‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2’ Targets Record-Breaking Box-Office Numbers on Franchise’s Final Installment!

Hutcherson and Hemsworth have done amazing jobs with Peeta and Gale, respectively, being secondary to Katniss’ plight. Unlike other young adult novels-turned-films, “The Hunger Games” franchise doesn’t dwell too much on the Peeta-Katniss-Gale love triangle.

Katniss and her journey for truth have always been a step ahead of the two and Lawrence just proves in every movie that her character is the magnetic center of the epic saga. The franchise is her story from the very beginning.

Fan favorite characters Elizabeth Banks and Stanley Tucci, portraying Effie Trinket and Ceasar Flickerman, respectively, were noted to be lacking the screen time in the final movie.

In the books, Effie was really not present until the last chapter of “Mockingjay.” Banks just did a great job in portraying the accentuated Effie that fans wanted her to be in the last two movies.

It is also important to note that “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2” is the last project of Philip Seymour Hoffman before his demise. Hoffman played former game master Plutarch Heavensbee and is an ally in Katniss’ rebellion towards the Capitol.

Hoffman died nearly two years ago and finished all his scenes for “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1.” He did, however, still has some shots left for the final film. During the Europe film premiere last week, the cast paid tribute to Hoffman.
