‘Criminal Minds’ Season 12 to Become the Third Time for Actress Paget Brewster Playing as Emily Prentiss in the TV Series!

There have been two major casting spoilers for Season 12 of the American police procedural drama TV series “Criminal Minds” on CBS thus far.

Following the departure of former series regular Shemar Moore, who played the role of Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) agent Derek Morgan in the TV series, veteran TV actor Adam Rodriguez was taken in by the show for Season 12.

Subsequently, reports started coming out that actress Paget Brewster shall be coming back to the TV series for Season 12, which actually stemmed from her previous image teases on social media showcasing her favorite outfit while she was still in the TV series.

During the San Diego ComicCon, executive producer Erica Messer confirmed that Paget Brewster will indeed be reprising her role as Emily Prentiss in the upcoming Season 12 of “Criminal Minds.”

Messer said that they are excited to have Paget Brewster back for multiple episodes in Season 12 of “Criminal Minds” She added that the BAU could certainly use more help in the upcoming season since the team had a lot of known and unknown subjects to catch.

13 serial killers on the loose

It can be recalled that during the Season 11 finale of “Criminal Minds,” a total of 13 serial killers bolted from jail so the BAU team really has their hands full on the upcoming Season 12, reports the Christian Times.

Brewster’s upcoming stint with “Criminal Minds” is actually her third time in the course of the 12 seasons of the show. She first joined the series during its second season in 2006 and was a regular until Season 7. She made a comeback again in Season 11 before her character decided to join the Interpol.

Reports have it that it is still not clear if her return for the show’s Season 12 would be as a series regular or shall only be good for a couple of episodes.

Incidentally, actress Penelope Garcia, played by Kirsten Vangsness in the TV series, recently shared secrets about “Criminal Minds” Season 12, which is due to premiere on CBS on September 28.

She revealed the details along with Monty of the spinoff TV series “Criminal Minds Beyond Borders.” Monty is being played by Tyler James Williams.

In a video she posted on social media, Vangsness shared how Mr. Scratch could be a significant figure in Season 12 of “Criminal Minds.”

After what Mr. Scratch has done, Supervisory Special Agent Aaron ‘Hotch’ Hotchner would stop at nothing to bring him to justice the second time around. Everyone in the BAU knows that people just don’t mess with Hotch over anything at all, notes the Australia Network News.

Agent Derek Morgan, played by Shemar Moore, bid “Criminal Minds” goodbye after the 16th episode of its Season 11 early this year.

The actor decided to move on from the show after being a series regular for 11 years but the TV series did not kill off his character but simply moved out of the BAU of the FBI in order to ensure the safety of his wife and their newly-born baby.

Derek Morgan is a fan-favorite character so seeing him go disappointed a lot of fans of “Criminal Minds.”

As a result, speculations have been swirling wildly on the internet that Shemar Moore might decide to come back to reprise his role in Season 12 of “Criminal Minds” since Derek Morgan did not die anyway.

The rumors further heightened when one of the executive producers hinted of a possible comeback of Shemar Moore on the upcoming Season 12 of “Criminal Minds.”
