‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ to See Truck versus Truck as Onslaught Goes Up Against Optimus Prime!

Everyone knows that the leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime, is a huge truck in his vehicle form. He is in fact, the biggest among his Transformers flock.

And it looks like he will meet his match, size-wise, in the upcoming fifth installment of the “Transformers” movie officially titled as “Transformers: The Last Knight.”

Director Michael Bay released a teaser for the upcoming film due to hit theaters on June 23, 2017, and it features the leader of the Decepticons unit known as the Combaticons. The image actually showed a Western Star 4900 SF which is to be the vehicle mode for Onslaught, reports the Motor Authority.

Given such hint, it is likely therefore that “Transformer 5” will feature a truck versus track battle between Optimus Prime and Onslaught.

It can be recalled that in the original animated TV series, Onslaught and the rest of the Combaticons could combine to form the powerful but somewhat half-wit Bruticus.

Fans are hoping to see some of Bruticus in the upcoming movie as his character will surely add to the excitement and laughs too.

Based on the teaser of Michael Bay, Onslaught will work alongside other Decepticons in the movie including Barricade, whose vehicle mode is the Ford Mustang police car, and the leader of the Decepticons, Megatron, whose vehicle mode in “Transformers 5” has yet to be revealed.

On the side of the Autobots, in addition to Optimus Prime, there will also be the usual Bumblebee, whose vehicle mode is the Camaro, and Drift, whose vehicle mode is the Mercedes-Benz AMG GTR.

Busy shooting in Detroit

Michael Bay also showed an extended peak behind the scenes on the movie’s Facebook page during the ongoing production of “Transformers: The Last Knight” over at Detroit, Michigan.

The scenes also include actor Mark Wahlberg, who is returning to the franchise after taking on the role of inventor Cade Yeager in “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” the fourth movie in the franchise shown on June 27, 2014.

Bay used a selfie stick to shoot the video to give fans a clear view of the preparations that go into a single scene in the movie, notes Collider.

Critics are one in saying that the tease is one of the fascinating things that Bay has released on social media accounts for a variety of reasons.

Interestingly, the video also showed the strange intimacy on how Bay talks with his crew and Wahlberg. He also talked about enjoying working with foreigners, the way Wahlberg discusses the contents of the salad he is having for lunch to keep it tight.

The second movie to film in Cuba

The fifth film of the robot movie franchise “Transformers” now has an official title and it’s going to be “Transformers: The Last Knight.”

Michael Bay is also back as director, contrary to previous reports that he has retired from the franchise after the fourth movie “Transformers: Age of Extinction” was shown in 2014.

Filming has  begun in May in Cuba, making “Transformers 5” as the second big budget Hollywood movie to shoot in the country following “Fast & Furious 8” in April. The two movies also became the first two US films shot in Cuba since America imposed a trade embargo on the Central American country back in the 60s.

Michael Bay confirmed the start of filming on his Instagram account and more behind-the-scenes images shall be expected from the director on his social media account.

In addition to “Fast & Furious 8” and “Transformers: The Last Knight,” talk show host Conan also took his TV show in Cuba earlier this year.

After the US lifted its long-standing trade embargo and eased travel restrictions in the Central American country, Cuba is fast shaping up to be the new premiere destination for TV and movie producers.

Critics, however, are wondering how “Transformers: The Last Knight” would play out in Cuba but it is likely that Michael Bay will bring his destructive hand to the country. Of course, it is possible that the destruction would be just through computer-generated imageries or CGIs.
