Asus is also releasing an accessory called the ChargeBack, which is a small 155 mAH extended battery pack, specifically meant to serve as back up to the ZenWatch 2 in the event that the user does not have access to a charging station even after four days.
The ChargeBack is a magnetic charger that clips to the Asus ZenWatch 2 in order to dramatically improve battery recharge times. Using the accessory, the battery will reach 50% capacity in only 36 minutes.
Asus has also significantly improved the software of the ZenWatch 2 compared to its first-generation model. The device still has the fitness tracking features, along with a new wellness app for the phone including a comprehensive remote control for the camera.
The user also has the option to change from the front to the rear camera and adjust to zoom. In addition, the Asus ZenWatch 2 has a new FaceDesigner app, 50 exclusive watch faces, and Wi-Fi support.
Inside, it has a 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage and will come with an IP67 standard water resistance. While the smartwatch has already made it to its home market in Taiwan as expected, it will also hit the US and other markets this month.
