It’s no secret that Abigail Spencer loves theatre, and she has been quite fond of various elements of this art quite openly. And according to the star, she’s hopeful that she can inspire her son to appreciate Broadway as much as she does, and she’s been putting effort into trying to make that happen. In a recent interview, she shared that she has been taking him to various plays recently, hoping that he will soon start to get a feeling for the art himself and dig into it on his own.
She claims to have taken him to four different shows in just two days, starting with “Aladdin”, which she enjoyed a lot. She was quick to recommend the play to parents, and said that it was a fantastic show. In addition, she revealed that she has several friends starring in various Broadway productions, including one who is taking part in “Hamilton”.
She went on to describe how this last acquaintance actually got her backstage access to the production, where Spencer and her son Roman got to hang out with the star, Leslie Odom Jr., as well as others who were taking part in the play.
In addition, Roman was given backstage access to “An American in Paris”, and even though he initially didn’t seem to understand the gravity of the situation, his mother quickly told him that he should feel quite lucky about the whole situation. She apparently never got a chance to visit New York before she was 17, at which point she was auditioning for theatre schools.
Meanwhile, some publications have been paying close attention to Abigail Spencer, digging deeper into her life and coming up with various interesting bits of information to share with her fans, including things that many might not have known about. For example, at one point she admitted that her biggest fear is that of tornadoes, and she even gets scared just by looking at a cloud getting really dark.
On the other hand, it seems like Spencer is also an avid surfer, and she actually started way back when she was 3 years old. However, she’s also quite modest about that particular hobby of hers, claiming that she’s not actually that good and that her skills are far from what her amount of experience with the board would suggest. She added that she’s just been doing it for a long time, but that doesn’t necessarily have any implications for how good she is at it.
She also revealed that her father was the one who got her into the whole sport, as he was a professional surfer and was apparently eager to get her excited about surfing too. We can see some parallel between this and her current eagerness to get her son introduced into the world of theatre, and it’s good that she was raised in a way that inspires her to be a good parent herself.
Abigail Spencer has been portrayed very favorably in the media in general, and it’s clear that a lot of people are fond of her. The actress has also landed various successful roles during her career, and she lately joined the cast of “True Detective” much to the excitement of many of her fans. While we have no idea where her career will take her next, we can only imagine that she has great things ahead of her, and we hope that we’ll get to see more of her performance on the screen.
