But as seen in the promo clip of the final episode, Elena shall have a separate interaction with Damon and Stefan.
Elena was last seen alive away from her coffin that left Damon and Stefan in awe, which could probably mean that Bonnie died since she has been linked by Kai to Elena.
But there are also rumors saying that it could be Katherine deceiving the Salvatore brothers since she has been known for effortlessly imitating Elena.
So far Nina Dobrev has not spoken or made any comments about Katherine’s return so it is up to the showrunners how they intend to blow the minds of the viewers away.
The show will soon close the curtain with an epic episode that would leave fans in awe and satisfied, the same way that Nina Dobrev described it during her recent interview detailing her return.
