The second season of “The Last Ship” has gone from challenging to extremely challenging. Chandler was trying so hard to find the Immunes in North Florida so he could avenge the destruction of the labs. When Chandler and his team finally found the Immune compound, they discovered that Patient Zero is actually working for the Ramseys.
Because of this new discovery, Chandler decided to disguise himself to get close to Sean’s group. Chandler tried to get as much intel as he can. He also tried to undo the brainwashing on Michener.
As Chandler tried to pick up the pieces together, Dr. Rachel Scott was trying to reconstruct Dr. Hunter’s formula even as she attempts to control her emotions, especially now that her enemy, Nathan James, is on the ship as well. Dr. Scott eventually realized that for her to solve the mystery of the formula, she had to depend on that one scientist responsible for almost eliminating the humankind.
Then, a suspicious death occurred on the ship. The event forced Chandler to step in and initiate a murder investigation. The order in the ship was disrupted because of such investigation. At the same time, Dr. Scott faced another problem as she tried to develop a more effective cure. Alisha helped her decode the Immune’s message as the entire ship sailed for New Orleans.
The crew continues to travel, but Ramsey sent a broadcast message telling everyone that a disaster happened to the Navy. Because of the alarming news, everyone has cooperated to locate the source of the Immune’s signal. Chandler also helped out as he tried to regain the trust of the Americans. The crew ventured towards the signal, but they will face an extremely difficult battle with Ramsey’s civilian allies.

TNT announced that they will renew “The Last Ship” for another season. Eric Dane will continue on as Captain Chandler leading the group of people who survived the catastrophe that eliminated the entire world’s population. Now, they will have to circle the entire earth to search for survivors and answers.
Season 2 finale will focus on the cure that Dr. Scott is developing. Chandler will try to disseminate as much as they can, but they will be faced with greedy strangers who would want to keep the cure for themselves. The ship will go to America where they will face the naturally immune survivors of the world who are trying to take over mankind.
Last year, “The Last Ship” set a new record for drawing in the largest audience on any cable show during its premiere. The series by Michael Bay has caught 5.3 million viewers during its premiere, 1.5 million of the viewers were from the 18 to 49 years old category. In total, the show garnered 7.4 million viewers from the premiere to the encore presentation.
Casts talk about the show
During an interview, Christina Elmore said that there is something special about her character, Alisha Grandershon, that attracted her to the show. Elmore said that when she first read the script, she immediately decided to audition. She was enticed by the idea of the post-apocalyptic world being narrated from a different point of view. Elmore added that she liked the idea of the naval forces trying to save the world.
