Showrunner Andrew Kreisberg explained that part of the mystery of Season 2 is who or what is underneath the Zoom outfit and that they wanted it to be something like James Earl Jones as Darth Vader, the iconic voice coming out of the mask.
Kreisberg said that if Reverse-Flash was a speed warrior in Season 1, Zoom is like a speed demon and that no one does demon-voice better than actor Tony Todd.
He also added that Zoom is like the Marvel super villain, Venom, the nemesis of Spider-Man, which means that the big baddie could possibly be the dark side of Barry Allen.
The showrunner added that the costume of Zoom is much more organic and it would be very hard to tell if it is a suit or alive because there will be no skin showing and fans and viewers might even think that there’s a robot underneath or some sort of dark energy.
In fact, there are even insinuations coming out that for all the viewers know, Barry Allen could be Zoom in Earth 2 or things like that. However, these are just mere fan speculations and everything about Zoom would be unravelled as “The Flash” moves to its Season 2 finale next year.
