Game developer Bethesda Studios took center stage at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015 when it launched several video games including the role-playing game “Fallout 4.”
Back then, it was mentioned that the other popular RPG, “The Elder Scrolls 6,” will have its day at the next E3 event. But since late last year, rumors and speculations were rife that the game would not be unveiled at the E3 2016 because Bethesda will not be able to present the game comes the June event.
However, Bethesda seems to be sending mixed signals to the gaming community when director Todd Howard recently hinted at the possibility of a number of big projects the game development company will be introducing at the upcoming event.
Thus, speculations started running wild that Bethesda may launch a teaser for “The Elder Scrolls 6” at the event.
While nobody is certain when “The Elder Scrolls 6” could officially come out in the gaming consoles, there are now reports that it would have to come out once Bethesda officially unveils the remastered version of its predecessor game, “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, reports MNR Daily.
Still, even the release date of the remastered version of “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” is still up in the air and Bethesda is also not talking about it.
One thing is certain at this point is that “The Elder Scrolls” would not officially come out in the gaming consoles this year and the earliest date that it can do so is around next year.
A sequel to Skyrim
With the reports of an impending release of the remastered version of “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim,” it seems that the notion that “The Elder Scrolls 6” shall be a continuation of the story of its predecessor has been further reinforced.
In fact, there are some reports saying that the next “The Elder Scrolls” game could come out with the official title of “The Elder Scrolls 6: Skyrim 2,” reports Crossmap
It was actually Pete Hines, Vice President of PR and Marketing at Bethesda Studios, who somewhat hinted that the next game of the series shall be called “Skyrim 2.”
In the interview, Pete Hines said that it is rare to have franchises like the ones they have and to have people joking about when “Skyrim” is coming out.
It was also Hines who said back then that the development team cannot focus yet on the full development of “The Elder Scrolls 6” because they are still busy with working on the DLCs for “Fallout 4.” However, the last DLC for “Fallout 4” has already been completed and released to the game recently which only means that the developer is now focusing on the development of “The Elder Scrolls 6.”
Not ready to throw in the towel
While Bethesda Studios has stated late last year that it seems unlikely that it shall be able to launch the next installment to the role-playing game “The Elder Scrolls” this year, fans and gamers of “The Elder Scrolls 6” are not just about ready to throw in the towel yet.
In January this year, Bethesda announced that it will be participating at the E3 2016 to be held in Los Angeles, California in June.
That certainly set off a new round of expectations from fans and gamers, particularly those rooting for “The Elder Scrolls 6.”
While Bethesda has yet to make a statement on what games it is planning to roll out during the event, it could be recalled that the company made a splash last year in the same event when it unveiled “Fallout 4” and at least four other games.
