According to the latest rumors that have been going around, there might have been a recent leak that revealed some upcoming characters that will be added to “Super Smash Bros 4” as DLC. And while some have been questioning the credibility of the rumor, it does seem plausible according to many fans of the game, and people are basically expecting it to be true at this point. We’re going to see some familiar characters coming if the leak is true, the most notable of which is Shovel Knight.
This might finally make the long-running rumor about the character’s addition to the game a reality, and many fans of the original game have been discussing the possibility of seeing Shovel Knight in “Super Smash Bros 4” with excitement. Of course, we won’t know for sure if the rumors are true until the DLC is actually released, but we wouldn’t be surprised if the popularity of the leak inspired the developers to actually add the character even if the leak itself was false.
On the other hand, there might also be a stage designed after a small, somewhat popular indie game for the Wii U called “Runbow”, which started out as a relatively obscure title but quickly managed to get a large following with plenty of players discussing it on a regular basis. However, this particular part of the leak has been questioned by some critics and many apparently see it as implausible, especially when there are several other more prominent choices for stages that can be added to the game.
Last but not least, the leak also discusses various new Mii costumes that might be added with the DLC, including various characters like Shantae, Crystal and Waluigi. In the end, the rumors are based on a leak from a popular messaging board which has been right about some leaks before, but it’s also been the source of a lot of confusion and untrue rumors. Once again, all of this should be taken with a big grain of salt and fans should be careful with where they’re getting their information from.
There were several screenshots posted along with the main leak itself though, which has raised the hopes of many players and it seems to be a good indication that there might be some truth to the whole thing. Of course, it’s not that difficult to produce forged screenshots for this purpose, especially when they only have to show a bunch of menus.
That’s why some gamers have been a bit skeptical towards this leak as a whole. Players of not only “Super Smash Bros” but other titles in general have grown quite aware of these false leaks that tend to circulate on the Internet often. They’re especially prominent with more popular games, and those who listen to all “leaks” that are revealed can end up wasting a lot of time following false leads and investing their emotions into red herrings.
And yet, various publications have been covering this situation and claiming that there is probably at least some truth to the leaks. Hopefully Nintendo are watching, because as we said above, even if the leaks aren’t true, this should at least give the studio a pretty good indication about what they can do for their future updates. They have a lot of potential to please their fans right now with the kind of content that those fans actually want to see.
