If rumors are to be believed, the much-anticipated Sony Xperia Z4, the successor to the highly-popular Xperia Z3, could be here soon! A report by Ubergizmo claims that the smartphone was showcased at CES 2015, but hidden from the public eye. This report coincides with our previous reports of Sony revealing the Xperia Z4 alongside the HTC One M9, Samsung S6/S6 Edge, LG GFlex and the Xiaomi Mi5. Huawei is also slated to reveal an unnamed product within the period.
Most of these devices made a public appearance at the Consumer Electronics Show 2015 – which took place in Las Vegas, Nevada till 9th January – the others will be available at the retailers soon Here’s what we know of the upcoming Sony Xperia Z4.
The most talked about feature of the Xperia Z4 is its camera resolution, which the experts predict will feature the upgraded IMX 220 20.7 MP sensor, last used on the Xperia Z1. According to the report on Christian Times, the Xperia Z4 is likely to feature a 22 or 24 MP primary camera, which features a jump of at least 1.3 MP.
The report further claims that the smartphone features 10x Optical zoom along with Xenon flash as part of its standard fit! This report correlates with Sony’s announcement of working on a new camera technology. The Xperia Z4 is Sony’s best bet of launching the new camera. According to anonymous sources, Sony plans to incorporate the latest IMX 230 sensor with light management capabilities and advanced auto-focus technologies.
Initial reports further claim that the smartphone is expected to feature a 5.4-inch display, which is a downgrade from the 5.5-inch screen on its predecessor. While the Xperia Z2 featured a 5.2-inch display sporting 1,920 x 1,080 pixel density, the Z3 featured a 5.5-inch display. The designers at Sony prefer using the best quality materials that they can get their hands on, thus, improving the visuals by a great margin!
Reports further claim that the upcoming device features a processor that is just as powerful as the last-gen Xperia. Some of the other rumored specifications of the Xperia Z4 include a Quad-HD display sporting 2,560 x 1,440 pixel resolution along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor (64-bit, Octa-Core) with 32 GB of built-in memory and Adreno 430 along with 4GB of RAM, Bluetooth v4.1 and LTE Cat.6 connectivity.
Sony is currently testing the smartphone with Android v5.0 Lollipop, which makes optimum use of the hardware. What are your views on the upcoming Sony Xperia Z4?
