Release Date of Kingdom Hearts 3 Still Unknown, Previous Reports Possibly False!

It was recently rumored that the release date for “Kingdom Hearts 3” has been confirmed, and that the game is scheduled for 2015 – and because the information came from a legitimate source, many fans got understandably excited and took it at face value, considering the game to have been confirmed officially. However, it seems that those who got sucked in by the initial hype are going to have to let their emotions cool down a little bit, as it was recently announced that the “confirmation” was not true.

Bill Farmer posted on his Twitter account, stating that the game is close to completion and will be ready in 2015, after a development cycle that’s already taken several years. He didn’t want to shed any more light on his sources, stating simply that he’s sure that he’s speaking the truth. Farmer is a major figure in the game’s development, being the voice actor of one of the most prominent characters – Goofy – so most fans believed his words and the information quickly started spreading.

Now, however, opening Farmer’s Twitter account shows a different picture – the old tweets have been deleted, and a more recent one states that the game’s release date has not yet been confirmed. It’s apparent that the voice actor was contacted by someone from the studio shortly after making his initial tweets, although it’s hard to say how the deletion of his “confirmation” should be treated.

On one hand, it could mean that Farmer simply had the wrong information and was subsequently corrected by people at the development studio. On the other, it’s also possible that he was indeed revealing the truth, but the developers weren’t ready to make any official announcement yet. Knowing how secretive developers can get when a name as big as this one is on the table, both versions could make sense equally well. Farmer himself hasn’t made any further statements about the game, and it’s likely that he’ll remain quiet until its official announcement at this point.

At least, Farmer’s words so far have confirmed one thing – that he’ll be reprising his role as Goofy in the new game. It’s not known which of the other original voice actors will also be returning for the new production, although it’s likely that the developers will try to get as much of the original cast as possible. Considering the length of the game’s development so far, on the other hand, a lot could have changed behind the scenes, and it’s possible that some of the studio’s plans have had to change along the way. Rumors have been plentiful, but legitimate leaks about the new “Kingdom Hearts” seem to be nowhere to be found so far.
