‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ Most Likely to be Announced at E3 as Rockstar Teases About Making its Presence Felt at the Event

Six years after its predecessor came out, fans of the Western action-adventure video game “Red Dead Redemption” may finally see its sequel released soon.

The much-awaited “Red Dead Redemption 2” is highly rumored to be unveiled during this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 set to take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center in June.

According to Vine Report, the upcoming game will be announced by June this year and will be released to gaming consoles by the fourth quarter of this year.

According to Videogamer, Rockstar plans to release the highly-anticipated game in the gaming platforms including the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and the PC.

There are also rumors that the title will initially be released in Japan, but die-hard gamers of the franchise disagree as the game is more Western-oriented.

Reports say that there will be more locations in the United States that will be added in the gameplay such as Utah, Arizona, Denver, New Mexico, Texas, South Dakota, and Louisiana.

As per Gameranx, Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two Interactive has revealed that it will be present at E3 and that their presence will be felt in a big way.

Also, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick almost confirmed the possibility of a “Red Dead Redemption” sequel announcement at the event.

Interestingly, Take-Two doesn’t usually take part at E3 but this year, their rival Electronic Arts won’t be at the event in favor of the new in-house show called EA Play which will be hosted both in London and Los Angeles.

E3 begins on June 14 until June 18 with conferences from EA, Ubisoft, Square Enix, Sony, Microsoft, Bethesda, and Nintendo expected to take place in the days before.

Speaking to MVC, Zelnick was tight-lipped about details but he did tease fans about an open-world video game that they should really look forward to the event in June.

Zelnick says that the company’s presence will be essential in the Los Angeles gaming event but did not divulge information about which developer will be the biggest protagonist there.

Rumors of a “Red Dead Redemption 2” surfaced years ago. Just last November a former Rockstar employee shared a tease for the upcoming game in a Reddit AMA.

The employee claimed that he was working on the “Red Dead Redemption 2” which will be called “Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West” where two new characters, Irish and Seth, will be introduced.

Latinos Health reports that Irish is brought up in Ireland who moved to America when she was 15 while Seth is from Kansas and works as a bank teller.

A year before that, a job opening at Rockstar San Diego created speculations that the game was already in the works.

Rockstar nor Take-Two did not give a comment about these rumors, but hopefully, if reports are true that the next installment to the successful gaming franchise will come out four months from now, then fans can find out if the former employee was speaking the truth.

There are reports saying that “Red Dead Redemption 2” will indeed be released this year also surfaced because of an apparent pattern of Rockstar’s releases on the franchise.

The first ever title for the “Red Dead” franchise was “Red Dead Revolver” released in 2004.

Six years later, “Red Dead Redemption” came out. Hence, the latest addition to the Western-themed video game expected to make its way to gamers this year.

“Red Dead Redemption” is one of Rockstar’s critically-received games. The game, played in a third-person perspective, was released for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360.

Red Dead Redemption 2

Its popularity led to the development of stand-alone expansion “Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare” which was released in October 2010.

Based on leaks, it seems that the first “Red Dead Redemption” is coming to Xbox One Backward Compatibility which should amp the hype for the next installment.
