Paul Wesley Acknowledges Nina Dobrev’s Departure from The Vampire Diaries Will Change Show Significantly, Producers Willing to Work with Her Again in the Future, And More

Nina Dobrev leaving “The Vampire Diaries” immediately became major news for fans of the show, and many of them were seemingly worried by the development, confused about what they can expect from the future of the production. We’re not so sure ourselves either, but in any case it looks like “The Vampire Diaries” will change significantly, though it’s hard to say what kind of direction the production will move in afterwards.

Paul Wesley recently acknowledged that major changes are coming in the future after the star’s departure, stating that things will never be the same. He currently has no idea about the producers’ plans for the show over the next year however, but there is at least some plan in the works, according to him. He added that he believes that the plan is actually quite interesting, and he sounded overall confident in the producers’ ability to continue the production properly and in a way that meets fans’ expectations.

What about Dobrev herself? According to Wesley, she’s actually doing quite fine and her departure from the show is something she has wanted for some time now. It’s been coming for a long time at this point, and she’s really happy to be able to move on and explore other aspects of her career. We don’t know where her work will take her next, but we can only hope that we’ll see more of her on the screen in the coming months, as she definitely has a lot of potential.

Is Paul Wesley going to depart from the show himself at some point soon? This is something that fans have been speculating about quite a lot, and it seems to be a real possibility right now. Wesley himself didn’t outright deny the idea either, pointing out that he’s a 32-year-old playing the role of someone who’s 17, so the end to his role might be in sight.

He joked that if he stayed for another three years, he would actually be more than double the supposed age of his character, further adding to the ridiculous nature of his situation. Of course, the writers could come up with a way to move the plot forward and have the character age as well, but that’s probably more complicated than is worth at the moment. In the end, it’s more likely that we’ll see Wesley departing from the show at some point, and then it’s hard to say what direction the story is going to take.
