Narcos Season 2 Shall Feature Less Voiceover and More on the Show’s Characters, Confirms Executive Producer

Eric Newman said that they recognize the importance of Pablo Escobar in the storyline of the TV series. But they would not be brazen enough to alter true events just for the sake of keeping the main and fan-favorite character alive when in real life he really died. He added that “Narcos” would not do such most certainly.

However, he also assured fans and viewers of “Narcos” that there are a number of things that can happen on the show after the death of Escobar. He added that they have not committed to one or the other ideas but he said that there are obviously a lot of other stories in the world that continue on beyond Escobar.

The latest reports about “Narcos,” other than the absurd rumors that it will be canceled after Season 2, indicate that actor Eric Lange of “The Bridge” has been taken in as a series regular and he shall be portraying the role of CIA Special Agent Stechner.

Stechner will work alongside DEA operatives in Medellin, Columbia. He will be joining DEA Agent Javier Pena, played by Pedro Pascal, and DEA Agent Steve Murphy, played by Boyd Holbrook, in getting into the good graces of the Columbian drug lord and Medellin Cartel leader Pablo Escobar.

  1. In season one, I enjoyed the use of voiceover to explain significant time lapses between episodes. This is a great example of how to use voiceover effectively in storytelling!

It is a good idea to reduce the amount of narration used in season 2, since it will be more character driven. Good use of voiceover means knowing when, and when not to use it!
