While Square Enix is keeping mum about it, rumors are swirling wildly that the secret game title that the developer would be unveiling at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015 to be held next week at Los Angeles, California is the third installment of the cross-over role-playing game “Kingdom Hearts 3.”
Square Enix is scheduled to host a press conference at E3 2015 to be held on June 16 where it is expected to make an announcement about one of its upcoming video games.
The only hint that the developer gave is through a cryptic image on the e-mail invite it sent out which shows the Atlantic Ocean in black and gray with various countries blurred out, details the Latin Times.
However, skeptics believe otherwise since reports last month indicate that Square Enix will be launching “Kingdom Hearts 3” at the Japan version of the D23 Expo to be held on November 6 to 8 at Tokyo Disney Resort, where it expects to draw more Disney fans than at the E3 2015.
“Kingdom Hearts 3” is also up against a vast roster of upcoming games from Square Enix including “Final Fantasy XV,” “Hitman,” “XIV: Heavensward,” “Deus Ex: Manking,” “Star Ocean 5” and a lot more so having the game launched or unveiled at the E3 is really a long shot.
While “Kingdom Hearts 3” is the third game in the well-loved and appreciated role-playing game series from Square Enix, it is actually the first installment in the series that shall be released on more than one gaming console. Its predecessors were released exclusively on the PlayStation consoles.
Fan speculations
Square Enix has yet to make an announcement or a statement regarding the release date of “Kingdom Hearts 3” on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One so speculations have been keeping fans and gamers quite preoccupied.
Apparently, Square Enix is not just planning to launch the gameplay trailer of “Kingdom Hearts 3” during the Japan D23 Expo to be held in November but shall also divulge other details of the upcoming video game including its likely mobile version.
Game director Tetsuya Nomura also confirmed that “Kingdom Hearts 3” will make an appearance in the Japan event.
With a November launching for “Kingdom Hearts 3,” it is likely that the game will subsequently be released to the next generation gaming console in the first half of next year.
New Disney character
It is typical for Square Enix to introduce and include a Disney character or characters on its crossover action role-playing video game franchise, “Kingdom Hearts” which originally featured the classic Disney characters Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy as they join Sora in his quests.
With the upcoming release of the third installment of the “Kingdom Hearts” video game franchise on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, speculations have been going around particularly among fans and gamers on who the next Disney character or characters will be featured on “Kingdom Hearts 3.”
