Amid persistent talk and rumors of “The Amazing Spider-Man 3” movie, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed that there will be no such thing as his company, in collaboration with Sony Pictures, is set to reboot the Spider-Man franchise to make the web-clinging superhero attune to the Marvel cinematic universe.
It can be recalled that Marvel and Sony has forged a groundbreaking agreement in February which gave Marvel the rights to Spider-Man as he officially joins the Marvel cinematic universe, the way he has been known to belong by fans of Marvel comics.
Talks about the cancellation of “The Amazing Spider-Man 3” and the firing of Andrew Garfield from the supposed movie have been circulating in the internet lately. That is basically water under the bridge now considering that it is now Marvel’s turn to make a movie about Spider-Man and it is not planning to build on the two-movie series of “The Amazing Spider-Man” that starred Andrew Garfield.
Feige said that the Spider-Man reboot movie will focus more on the real personality of the superhero which shall be comical and witty. The web-slinging superhero shall poke fun on his opponents despite being in serious situations, details Yibada.
In the “Spider-Man” and “The Amazing Spider-Man” series produced by Sony Pictures, the superhero was portrayed as a serious man wanting to rid the world of villains.
Marvel intends to roll out the “Spider-Man” reboot movie sometime in 2017 but the superhero will already appear in the third installment of the Captain America movie to be released to worldwide theaters next year officially titled “Captain America: Civil War.”
Why ‘Amazing Spider-Man 3’ was cancelled
There could have been a third installment to the “Amazing Spider-Man” movie franchise if temperamental actor Andrew Garfield did not snub a Sony event featuring the top executive of the company last year.
Garfield actually insulted Sony chief Kaz Hirai when he was a no-show in a Sony gala celebrating the end of the World Cup at Rio de Janeiro in the summer of 2014.
Despite the so-called underwhelming performance of “Amazing Spider-Man 2” in the box-office compared to its predecessor, Kaz was actually planning to introduce Garfield during the Rio de Janeiro event as the star of “Amazing Spider-Man 3” set for a 2016 release during his prepared speech for some 750 guests.
Garfield, who incidentally arrived in Rio de Janeiro on that day, made a huge mistake of snubbing Kaz and never took the initiative of coming down to dinner for the Sony gala event, which have surely piqued the Sony boss.
The even worse thing is that Andrew Garfield decided not to attend the gala event with barely an hour to go. Some reports have it that he claimed he was feeling bad under the weather while some others say he has a rather scruffy beard at that time and just wants to be left alone.
The supposed speech of Kaz Hirai eventually made the rounds in the internet as part of the inter-office e-mail exchanges among staff following the hacking of Sony late last year.
