While some negative comments about her feminist views and opinions made her somewhat scared at first, she went on with her campaign because she knows it is for a worthy cause.
She even elaborated that she also experienced being the subject of unwanted advances from men which mean that oppression of women happens in every level of society.
She recalled one time that a man actually slapped her bottom as she was leaving a room and that she also experienced being stalked by a number of men and she felt almost traumatized by those experiences.
The star also admitted that she has been called a diva and a ‘feminazi’ but it did not stop her from continuing to speak about her purpose on raising women empowerment awareness.
Eventually, she learned to ignore the negative accusations against her and is no longer being affected by it, unlike before. It seems as if the actress has already developed an immunity from the negative accusations for her feminist views and she actually showed it when she recently defended her Belle character in “Beauty and the Beast.”
Watson has been very active in supporting feminism initiatives which is why she was chosen as the UN Ambassador for the ‘HeForShe’ organization.
Despite being a UN ambassador, she is still very active in her acting career amid claims that she is very choosy or selective of her roles.
Emma Watson will be seen on the big screen once again when “Beauty and the Beast” hits theaters on March 17.
