The latest and most controversial Tekken character is Josie Rizal, whose name came from the Philippine national hero Jose Rizal. Josie combines eskrima and kickboxing for her fighting style.
The second most controversial character is Lucky Chloe who is a culture freak. She was previously thought to be Japanese but she is not, according to game director and producer Katsuhiro Harada.
Then there is Shaheen from Saudi Arabia. As a new “Tekken 7” character, he was officially announced on January 1, 2015. He uses his military fighting style in the game. He possesses a scimitar around his waist and his head is adorned with a shemagh and an agal.
Bandai Namco did not take part in Japan’s Golden Week, which is a series of Japanese holidays beginning with the Showa Day on April 29.
The game developer said the non-participation is meant to give itself some time to change the development and release schedule of the characters in “Tekken 7.”
Harada did not reveal anything specific about which characters in “Tekken 7” are they changing or the release date of the video game on Sony’s next generation gaming console.
