The author appeared in the show as a zombified version of himself in the episode titled “The Collector.” He was seen inside a celebrity zombie room being presented to a collector, who seemed unfamiliar with the author.
The collector was told that Martin was the author of “A Song of Ice and Fire,” which many fans believe was a hint that Martin will be releasing “The Winds of Winter” in the spring of 2016.
Spring begins late in February to May so the timing is consistent if the book gets released anytime from February to March or even early April.
Martin, who graduated with honors at Northwestern University, says that the success of “Game of Thrones,” the HBO TV adaptation of his fantasy novel series, has already caught up to him. He adds that it is, in fact, the reason why there is now a great pressure on him to release the sixth book of the fantasy novel series titled “The Winds of Winter.”
The author continues to remain mum about the release date of the book. He said that for him to be able to come up with a specific release date for his book, he needs to write faster. But unfortunately, he admitted that he cannot.
