The show needs to air a few episodes in Season 4 before the network can decide if it will be greenlit for Season 5 or not.
However, some characters from Mystic Falls are confirmed to appear in New Orleans. Matt Davis’ Alaric Saltzman will appear in the season’s 8th episode with an agenda for him and for his twin girls.
Caroline, Matt, and the Salvatore brothers are also rumored to make appearances during the season, but The CW has not confirmed anything yet.
