The 2015 Jeep Renegade Delivers Superior Performance On and Off Asphalt

The 2015 Jeep Renegade has been designed in the US but is built in Italy. We assure our readers that this does not compromise on the vehicle’s build quality or capabilities in any way. The Renegade is tough as hell. This vehicle lives up to the Sports Utility Vehicle tagline.

With most companies launching elegant and fragile crossovers in the SUV range, car enthusiasts were losing interest in this class. Jeep, as we know, is famous for designing capable SUVs that are capable of handling anything, well, almost anything!

The partnership between Chrysler and Fiat is evident on the 2015 Jeep Renegade, as the vehicle bears a sense of Italian refinement masking its usually rugged outlook. We are not blaming Fiat for this as we always thoughts that conventional Jeeps could use a bit of refinement.

It is evident that Chrysler has benefitted from the partnership, but Fiat is not behind on the deal either. The Fiat 500 X, for example, draws heavy references to the upcoming Jeep Renegade when it comes to mechanical composition.

The Fiat Panda 4 x 4 is another vehicle that has drawn inspiration from the upcoming Renegade. So how does the 2015 Jeep Renegade feel on the road, since the Italians have designed it! From the moment that you climb into the cabin, you will notice the stark contrast to the interior on any of its predecessors.

The vehicle is powered by a plethora of engine choices, the most obvious of which is the 1.6-liter Multijet Diesel, displacing 120 BHP. This engine is known to return 50.4 MPG while emitting 120 g/km of CO2. Driving a Jeep was never about saving the planet, but the statistics have improved over time!

The engine has a good low-end RPM punch, which is carried into the mid-range. The engine is hooked onto a six-speed manual transmission system, which is a positive sign considering that most automakers are replacing stick-shifters with automatics.

Additional engine options include 2.0-liter variants that displace 140 and 170 BHP respectively. Both engine options can be hooked on to a four-wheel drivetrain and is available with eight and nine speed manual transmissions.

The 2015 Jeep Renegade is very agile and is capable of cruising effortlessly on freeways. Needless to say that it feels right at home off road. Petrol engine options are mostly naturally aspirated but don’t be bluffed by the lack of a supercharger, as the vehicles are just as responsive and fun to drive.
