“Sleepy Hollow” fans have been quite happy lately, as the show has seen various interesting developments on all fronts, and the writers seem to be running it through one of those periods where things are going well and everyone is happy. Of course, there are a few incidents here and there, and the characters of the show have been finding it difficult to deal with some particular issues that surround them, but in the end we don’t expect this story to be a walk in the park for the characters involved.
One of the things that fans have enjoyed about the current season is that it’s been a bit more positive towards Crane, and even though the character still has some issues to work out, he is making progress, and he was shown on a date with Zoe which went relatively well. Crane still took the opportunity to comment on the relatively weak show of knife skills by a chef the two of them were watching, while he also shot some questions towards Zoe to figure out more about her.
The character seems a little awkward in his interactions with Zoe, but he’s obviously interested enough in her to keep pushing things forward, and the two of them have been getting along relatively well. Still, it would be interesting to see how they will overcome some of the more inherent differences that they have, and Crane is finding it difficult to adjust to the time period that he’s currently in, and act in line with the common behavior around him.
Many fans seem hopeful that the two characters will eventually find themselves in a relationship, as it would help push the story forward on their ends quite a bit. Crane in particular can definitely use some development on a more intimate and personal note, and the character can benefit from having to share his personal space a little more.
On the other hand, some have been worried that a relationship like this could actually end up affecting him negatively in some minor ways, as it could actually take something away from his character and force him to focus on other aspects of his personality that we aren’t used to from before. So for example, seeing a more sensitive side of Crane could be a bit of a detriment to the overall story, but most fans seem confident that the writers will be able to balance this in a nice way to prevent the story from feeling like it’s losing its special charm.
The only real issue that some fans have with the situation is that Crane seemed to be getting along quite well with Abbie, and there was a lot of hope from some sides that the two of them would eventually enter a relationship of their own. Obviously, if Crane gets together with Zoe, this is out of the question, unless the writers have something even more dramatic and unusual planned for the characters, and we’re not sure the story really needs that right now.
Meanwhile, a crossover between the show and “Bones” has been relatively successful, as fans of both shows enjoyed seeing their favorite characters together on the screen, and this seemed to do wonders for the popularity of both shows. There were some worries that the crossover would feel forced and out of place, but in the end the producers managed to get things just right and it felt quite natural.
