In a recent interview, the “Let’s Get Loud” singer said that she is very proud of her work on “Shades of Blue” because she was really drawn to its story.
The 47-year-old actress said that “Shades of Blue” is not only a cop show because it is also about human nature. She explained that the show is about people and it’s about what they would do when put to the test on certain things.
She explained that the TV series actually poses a question on how a person can continue to be good and really do some nasty things at the same time. Because that is what most people do all the time.
Jennifer Lopez, who is also a producer of “Shades of Blue,” says that she was not supposed to play the lead role in the TV series. But when she pitched the story to NBC, the network officials asked her to do it.
She recalled that it was NBC Chairman Bob Greenblatt who urged her to play Harlee Santos in “Shades of Blue” and told her that if she agrees to do it, the network would do the show right away. The rest was history.
J-Lo says that Harlee Santos is an amazing role and it really made her think about something which she really wants to happen to the character.
