Further fueling the upcoming flagship competition between Apple and Samsung are reports that the Galaxy S7 may be equipped with e-SIM cards. FT reports that Apple and Samsung have been leading the rest of the telecom industry to launch electronic SIM cards in the market.
Traditional SIM cards lock a specific user to a network, but an e-SIM would allow another smartphone, tablet, and even a wearable device to avoid locking themselves into a single operator and allow users to switch instantly. Rampant gadget users have been lobbying the release of e-SIMs, saying it’s about time the SIM market undergoes an upgrade.
However with talks still ongoing with SIM manufacturers and telecom companies, it might take a year or less before e-SIM gadgets emerge. But with the rapid stages of development, it may not be a surprise if the emergence of e-SIMs may push forward in time for two of mobile market’s most anticipated releases – the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Apple iPhone 7.
Amid all these rumors about the phone’s release date, features, and specifications, the main point lies that the Samsung Galaxy S7 has a lot to prove following the company’s successful ‘Next is Now’ campaign with the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge. Samsung will certainly do everything to outdo itself and sustain its success with its current offerings that is getting rave reviews and brisk sales in the retail markets these days.
I cant see the Samsung s7 worrying to much. The iphone 6 of 2015 still has a 750 p screen and old tech specs compared to the s6 now.
