‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ Rumored Release Date Pushed Back to 2018; Game Speculated to Come Out VR-Ready by Then

Rockstar Games has yet to come out with an official statement or announcement regarding the exact release date of “Red Dead Redemption 2” or the remastered version of “Red Dead Redemption” so every information should be taken with a fine grain of salt.

Meanwhile, The theme of “Red Dead Redemption” was the death of the West featuring outlaw John Marston. But his tale was such an all-encompassing checklist of every major cowboy trope that it is really hard to know where a sequel could go.

It could possibly feature high noon duels, stagecoach robberies, cattle-herding, skinning buffalo, but more importantly is the possibility of capturing the post-modern Western theme that would show that gamers need no swinging saloon doors to capture the genre’s doomed romanticism.

But if the map leak is to be believed, the presence of an area called Heartland Oil Fields may point to a ‘There Will Be Blood’ style story. And it is likely that John Marston is no longer there but his descendant.

What seems consistent with the rumors about the game is that it shall have an official title of “Red Dead Redemption: Legends of the West” when it finally comes out on the gaming consoles.

It also seems clear that Rockstar Games is indeed working on the development of the game at the moment, which the company started doing four years ago.
