Game developer 2K Sports has already announced last month that the next iteration to its basketball simulation video game “NBA 2K16” will be coming to both the current and next generation gaming consoles as well as the PC on September 29.
However, in order to spice up further interests of fans and gamers of the franchise, 2K Sports has given them the opportunity to play the game four days in advance of the release date if they pre-order “NBA 2K16.”
In addition to getting the chance to play the game four days in advance, those who will pre-order the video game will also get 10,000 virtual currency and three MyTEAM Emerald Packs which shall have a guaranteed Emerald player on the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 and the PC, and 10,000 virtual currency and a MyTEAM Gold Booster Pack with a guaranteed Gold player and four additional gold items on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, details IGN.
“NBA 2K16” will come out on September 29 simultaneous to both Europe and North America.
Three different covers
The “NBA 2K16” shall reportedly have three different covers when it officially comes out. Accordingly, the cover will either have Stephen Curry, James Harden, or Anthony Davis in it. The three NBA superstars are MVP contenders in the current NBA season, with Curry eventually winning it.
Depending on who their favorite player is among the three NBA superstars, buyers of “NBA 2K16” can choose their video game cover because it will come with foldable inserts enabling them to swap covers as they prefer.
2K Sports has also enlisted the help of director Spike Lee, a die-hard New York Knicks fan, for the development of the career mode. The MyCareer mode in “NBA 2K16” will follow a character created by 2K Sports as he tries to work his way up the ladder possibly leading to a successful NBA career.
According to Lee, the feature will follow a top high school player who shall go through trials and tribulations as he enters the NBA and the decisions he make onwards becoming a legitimate NBA superstar.
Time for post players to shine
Tall post players were not able to use their height advantage over smaller players by posting up down low in “NBA 2K15.” But all that is going to change with the upcoming “NBA 2K16” as tall, talented rebounders and post players will finally be rewarded when the video game unravels on the gaming consoles and the PC.
Zach Timmerman, producer of “NBA 2K16,” in his latest post on Twitter, said that the upcoming video game will have 32 new backdown animations to help tall post players dominate their opponents in the shaded lane.
