The Scottish actor adds that this season feels more complex as the battles are not fought using swords and guns but more of politics and backstabbing.
The 35-year-old actor explained that Jamie will be hesitant at first to mingle with the high-end people in the French capital, but eventually, he will fit in and figure out how people in Paris do their battles.
Balfe, on the other hand, backs up Heughan’s statements saying that it won’t be smooth sailing for their characters despite having a daughter on the way. Sophie Skelton will be portraying Jamie and Claire’s child, Brianna.
The 36-year-old actress adds that the pair will be meeting some very interesting characters this season singling out Count of St. Germain. The character will be portrayed by Stanley Weber.
The lead stars reveal that it won’t be long before Claire gets the pair into trouble.
Scotland Now reports that the couple will also be dealing with the fallout of the events of Season 1 including Jamie’s imprisonment and sexual assault by Tobias Menzies’ Black Jack Randall.
Despite the challenges of Jamie’s past trauma, Balfe revealed that the two will grow a stronger bond this season as they work through their issues and prevent the Jacobite risings at the same time.
