What could that be about though? There are different possibilities, certainly, and there are indeed some niches on the smartphone market that still haven’t been explored in detail. That includes phones with more unusual and unique features, and we wouldn’t be surprised if OnePlus are planning something like that exactly.
But let’s not forget that the company’s most successful release was just a regularly styled phone which had the right set of features at a good price, and that’s all people wanted to see in the OnePlus One. Its success was partly because of the uniqueness of the device’s launch and the marketing that surrounded it, but that’s not something that the company can replicate at this point.
Let’s just hope that they will be able to retain their market position in the future, as it would be sad to see a newcomer going under shortly after coming up.
The smartphone market can definitely use some more competition from interesting companies right now, and OnePlus are among those with the best potential to freshen up the landscape and give us something more exciting to look forward to. Because of this, many tech lovers have been hopeful that OnePlus will get back to their original style and will be able to make a more successful release with the Mini and beyond.
