‘Narcos’ Season 2 Will Be More Character Driven Compared to the Premiere Season, Says Showrunner!

Unless “Narcos” storyline continues after Escobar’s death and the TV series shifts to telling the story of the law enforcement’s continued wars with the other drug cartels in Colombia, including the infamous Cali Cartel, the show will not have much to go on.

Cali Cartel was already introduced in “Narcos” in Season 1 and it will obviously be playing a major role in Season 2 as the two drug cartels fight for control of Colombia’s drug trade.

Newman also assured fans and viewers of “Narcos” that there are a number of things that can happen on the show after the death of Escobar. He added that they have not committed to one or the other but he said that there are obviously a lot of other stories in the world that continue on beyond Escobar.

The latest reports about “Narcos,” other than the absurd rumors that it will be cancelled for Season 2, indicate that actor Eric Lange of “The Bridge” has been taken in as a series regular and he shall be portraying the role of CIA Special Agent Stechner.

Stechner will work alongside DEA operatives in Medellin, Columbia. He will be joining DEA Agent Javier Pena, played by Pedro Pascal, and DEA Agent Steve Murphy, played by Boyd Holbrook, in getting into the good graces of the Columbian drug lord and Medellin cartel leader Pablo Escobar.
