Major Update for Minecraft On PS4 And Xbox One Ready For Download!

Minecraft is easily one of the most popular video games in the world right now.  New content can be downloaded all the time and the lastest version was sent out for those that are playing the original Minecraft and Minecraft Pocket Edition.  A developer from Mojang, which makes the popular game, took to Twitter to announce the last update has been uploaded.  Version 0.10.4 is expected to be the last of the 0.10.x version.  The update brings a few bug fixes as they usually do and some new features.

If you play the game then you most likely watch the Facebook and Twitter accounts closely for information regarding the updates, etc.  But, did you know the company also has a Tumblr account where updates are posted about the game?  For the Minecraft game, an update version number 1.8.1 was added on Monday.  There are new optimizations and bug fixes that come along with that update as well.  The update is available to download inside the launcher and should not take that long to install.

The bug fixes that were sent out to those on the PS4 included updates for tile entitles not being saved correctly, hiding mashup-pack worlds from saves list, changes to “disable saving” setting, fix for Glass Blocks and enchanted items not destroying other blocks fast enough and a fix for “Can Build and Mind” not working properly, just to name a few.  In total, there are 20 bug fixes and 1 addition allowing users to “Copy Save”.

According to one online source, there is a new mod for Minecraft.  With the new mod, players are able to build models inside the game and it is called “Tabula”.  The source of the interview said that the developer behind the mod did not go into detail about it.  The new mod is not meant as a replacement for Blender or Maya and is based off Techne.

Coming along with the new updates for the two versions of Minecraft is some new downloadable content (DLC).  The new DLC is for gamers that are using the Microsoft Xbox 360 and Xbox One and is called The Classic Star Wars skin pack.  The new pack features a collection of 55 skins from Episode IV through Episode VI.  With the new skin pack, dedicated Minecraft players can recreate popular scenes from the movies.  The content packs are not available on the Playstation yet and there is no word whether that is going to change.
