In 2015, the Android market will see two major releases that have had fans excited for quite a while now – LG are coming out with the G4, while on the other hand, Samsung have been preparing the Galaxy S6. Both devices are rumored to be a serious step forward compared to their previous versions, and a lot of people have been wondering which company is going to make a better offer to users. There have been a lot of eyes on LG in particular, as it’s expected that the G4 is going to be a serious entry into the market.
One of the things that the LG G4 will improve over the G3 is the display. The new device will apparently make the bezel around the screen even smaller, as LG are reportedly aiming to come as close as possible to eliminating it completely. There have been reports that the device will come with a 4K display, although some are claiming that it’ll be a 2K one instead. Both reports point towards a Super AMOLED model though, so even if the screen has a smaller resolution, its picture quality should still be quite good.
It’s not known how much the G4 will cost, although most rumors set the price at around $650. This would indicate that LG are trying to compete with flagship devices from other companies, particularly Samsung in the Android market. It’s expected that Samsung’s next device will cost a bit more than that, rumored to be priced at $700 or more. If the LG G4 is cheaper than that and yet still brings good specifications to the table, it could be a very serious competitor to the Samsung Galaxy S6.
Of course, that also depends on the kind of hardware LG have given the G4 underneath the screen – but if the rumors are true, the device should be quite powerful, and capable of running any serious Android application with ease. LG have also been known to be developing a new type of battery with significantly improved life, which could end up in the G4. If the device gets a boost to its battery capacity compared to an average smartphone, this could pave the way to much better processing power, as battery limitations have been the main bottleneck for this so far.
LG are expected to give more information on the G4 soon, and fans have been eager to see how the device will move the line forward. Even though LG are not the most popular company on the Android market, the G4 could very well change that, and secure a much more prominent position for them.
Samsung has nothing to worry about until LG fixes its software. This is coming from a LG products owner.
What software issues are you referring to? I have an LG G3 and don’t see any software issues.
