‘Kingdom Hearts 3’ Development Suits Well with Both Square Enix and Disney, Game Director Reveals!

This also meant that developers had to go through several battle systems to see which fits the gameplay best. Nomura says that the engine change was a necessary move to accommodate the new worlds and expanded combat for Sora.

He adds that ardent gamers will appreciate the release date delay when they get to play a brand new Sora. The protagonist character now possesses technical moves like the KeyBlade Transformation, which is an essential element of the game’s storyline and battle combat, Venture Capital Post reports.

According to IGN, “Kingdom Hearts 2.8” contains something that will prepare Sora’s fans for the next adventure. The remastered version, dubbed as “Final Chapter Prologue,” is a collection of three games, though only two will be playable. The third content is a new HD movie that narrates the story of the Foretellers.

“Kingdom Hearts 2.8” was announced last September and is scheduled to be released in 2016. It will be made available exclusively for PS4 consoles.

Details for “Kingdom Hearts 2.9” are still elusive. The news popped up shortly after E3 2015 but was removed, a hint that either this is a Square Enix top secret or it is just never going to happen. Techno Buffalo notes that this version of the game might not materialize as Tetsuya once said that “Kingdom Hearts 3” will come out after “Kingdom Hearts 2.8.”
