The latest interview with “Kingdom Hearts 3” game director Tetsuya Nomura indicates that Disney and game developer Square Enix did not have any problem with their respective involvement in the development of the crossover role-playing game.
The Japanese video game designer recently spoke to GamesTM about the highly anticipated action role-playing game and more on the “Kingdom Hearts” franchise in general. When asked if Disney and Square Enix had some disagreements with regards to the latest action adventure video game, the creator said that he did not feel Disney inhibited anything at all.
He adds that Disney was very hands-on with the creation of the game and whatever was unique with “Kingdom Hearts 3,” Disney did not have problems with Square Enix. Nomura reveals that all Disney was concerned about the upcoming game was maintaining their worlds.
He narrates that all Disney would suggest was if the Japanese video game publisher could give the game a lighter tone or a happier ending so it could cater to younger gamers, but overall, Nomura said that Disney did not stop Square Enix from doing anything.
Speaking about “Kingdom Hearts 3,” Tetsuya teases players about an Unreal battle system and a list of top secret playable characters that will surely blow everyone’s mind.
Nomura was careful to reveal details of the game, but it’s now out in the open that Sora is a playable character once again. The game artist also expressed his belief that the franchise will not end anytime soon despite its 13 years of existence.
The first “Kingdom Hearts” video game was released in March 2002. Nomura mentioned it because Disney has not even once brought up the topic of the franchise’s termination. However, the series creator believes that Disney will not be able to craft each generation of the franchise alone hence, future versions of the game will definitely be a joint venture with a credible game developer.
“Kingdom Hearts 3” will follow the events after 2012’s “Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance” with Sora joined by Donald Duck, Goofy, King Mickey, and Riku in search for the seven guardians of light and the ‘Key to Return Hearts.’
The gang will have to find these essentials so they could stop Master Xehanort’s plan to bring about a second Keyblade War in an attempt to balance light and darkness.
The upcoming video game is the 11th installment in the “Kingdom Hearts” franchise and will be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gaming consoles. It will be the first game in the whole franchise to be featured on a Microsoft platform. The game still has an unannounced release date.
Speaking of release date, Youth Health Mag speculates that with news of a remastered version of “Kingdom Hearts,” such as “Kingdom Hearts 2.8” and “Kingdom Hearts 2.9” surfacing, reports that the latest version of the game was speculated to follow soon.
However, with the recent decision of the game developer, it might take a while before players get their hands on Sora’s latest action-packed adventure. The latest addition to the crossover RPG franchise was initially pegged for a December 2016 release but now, the game will allegedly be unveiled in 2017.
Apparently, Amazon emailed a “Kingdom Hearts 3” fan, probably someone who preordered the game, stating that the game would be available in gaming consoles by January 2, 2017.
Square Enix or Disney has yet to confirm this. Apparently, the game was pushed back due to the game engine switch and the development of an improved battle system.
More on his interview with GamesTM, Nomura reveals that taking the game engine to a whole new level meant they needed to restart the whole process. The 44-year-old video game maker adds that they had to start from scratch once again to create better key effects and a new shader so “Kingdom Hearts 3” would appear more realistic.
