Jeremy Lin to Exhaust Every Opportunity to Come His Way to See How Great He Can Be as a Player!

Jeremy Lin says that he is now in his prime as a basketball athlete. He opines that in the NBA, the prime of the players is usually from the age of 27 to 30. He is already 27 years old now and he believes that he is already in his prime.

With that being said, Jeremy Lin said that he will be going into the free agency this summer being open-minded as he can be.

He pointed out that he will be exhausting every opportunity that comes his way to determine how great he can be as a basketball player. Lin said that it is his main purpose in the free agency and guarantees his fans that he will pick the one he knows will result to showing the best of him, reports ESPN.

Lin explained that he has played six years in the NBA and played five different teams in those six years. He also said that he has played for two D-League teams, which means seven cities in six years.

The 27-year-old Harvard graduate said that he is already tired of boxes and he is also tired of moving companies because he wants to finally find a home.

Jeremy Lin had a tremendous season as a backup point guard to Kemba Walker with the Charlotte Hornets in the recently concluded NBA season. He averaged 11.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3 assists. He was the Hornets’ hands-down sixth man and certainly helped the team make it to the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Wary of losing Lin

While the Hornets management wants to really sign up Lin and keep their roster intact, it seems that would be difficult to do at this time as the team is prioritizing the re-signing of swingman Nicolas Batum, and forward Marvin Williams.

They already offered Jeremy Lin $5.6 million, which is a 300% increase from his $2.2 million salary last year but it seems that Lin is entertaining several options.

Reports have it that he will be meeting on July 1 with three NBA ballclubs interested in his services at his hometown in Palo Alto, California.

While there was no confirmation on which teams they are going to be, previous reports indicated that the teams who are seriously considering his services are the Chicago Bulls, especially now that it already lost point guard Derrick Rose to the New York Knicks, the Dallas Mavericks, and the Brooklyn Nets.

Other teams who also want to take him in are the Philadelphia 76ers, the New Orleans Pelicans, and the Indiana Pacers. But since Lin is only meeting three NBA teams on July 1, then the second list of three other teams seems unlikely to be on his itinerary.

Wants to be a starter

Critics believe that Lin wants to be a starter for his next team, which the Hornets cannot afford to offer him because of the presence of Kemba Walker in the lineup.

It seems that among the teams vying for his services, only the Chicago Bulls can offer him that at this point since it already lost its starting point guard. The Dallas Mavericks can also offer him the spot should it fails to re-sign Deron Williams.

Although he had a remarkable season last year with Charlotte, Lin still has not shown he is ready to be a starting point guard in the NBA.

Some critics are saying that what is best for Jeremy Lin may not be for the best interest of the team that signs him up for the next season.

Accordingly, Lin’s value over a replacement player in terms of wins produced has declined in each season since Linsanity reached its peak in New York during the 2011-12 NBA season, making him a shaky starter.
