The more palatable notion is that GoPro Hero 5 may come out with a price that shall approximate that of the GoPro Hero 4, which is meant more as a business or pricing strategy.
This seems to be what GoPro is aiming as latest reports now indicate that the Hero 5 will have a price of $550 when it comes out by next year, contrary to rumors that it shall be priced $450. The GoPro Hero 4 is currently being retailed for around $500.
But the reports about the GoPro Hero 5 are consistent with a couple of things including the notion that the device will come out smaller and lighter than the GoPro Hero 4.
These reports already have teeth following the release of the GoPro Hero 4 Session in July which was almost 50% smaller and lighter than its base model.
Since the company has already done it with its latest offering, it is possible that it can replicate the same with the GoPro Hero 5.
Given that there is still plenty of time before the action camera is unveiled, and also considering GoPro’s excellent track record in rolling out videographic devices into the retail markets, chances of it happening are very high.
