‘Game of Thrones’ Season 6 Latest Trailer Teases Death of Many Characters

Last Sunday, HBO gave “Game of Thrones” fans a Valentine gift. However, it is far from being romantic or sweet. The network rolled out the latest teaser trailer of the fantasy drama’s sixth season and it definitely gave fans the chills.

The minute-long video is shot in action but leads down to a massive speculation on who will survive the upcoming season.

The Hall of Faces, the dark chamber in the House of Black and White in Braavos frequented by the Faceless Man, makes a spectacular return in the teaser.

The video first gives viewers a glimpse of the head of the departed Ned Stark accompanied by his voice.

After focusing on a few other characters who have already met their demise such as Richard Madden’s Rob Stark, and Michelle Fairley’s Catelyn Stark, the clip then begins to show Jon Snow.

The character played by Kit Harrington came face to face to death last season, but speculations are saying that Snow might actually be alive have been surfacing ever since last season’s finale.

Co-showrunner D.B. Weiss has long confirmed that Jon Snow is indeed dead, but photos of Harrington arriving on the set at Belfast surfaced last year indicating that his character will be making a return in Season 6.

Fans were also worried when HBO released the first six set photos of the season and no trace of Jon Snow was seen.

Jon Snow’s fate is expected to be revealed by Season 6’s premiere as HBO has released the first promotional art for the season showing a bloody Jon Snow.

Despite Jon Snow’s controversial appearance in the Hall of Faces, the final blow of the teaser was when viewers saw the head of Tyrion Lannister in the dark hall heavily hinting that the imp, played by Peter Dinklage, is headed for an imminent death.

However, before the latest teaser trailer ends, the final shot saw the busts of Sophie Turner’s Sansa Stark, Maisie Williams’ Arya Stark, Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys Targaryen, and Lena Headley’s Cersei Lannister.

C/Net notes that this is just a way of the writers to tease and torment fans until the show returns on April 24, but this could also mean that the lives of key characters are in danger for the upcoming season. After all, the message in the promo is clear: No one is safe.

The teaser trailer comes after HBO released photographs from Season 6. Photos were released by EW and TV Line and some of them include a very serious-looking Tyrion Lannister.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau’s Jamie and Cersei is also photographed sharing a moment. Arya is still blind after betraying the Faceless Man, and another photo provides the first glimpse of Max Von Sydow as the Three-Eyed Raven.

Gizmodo reports that there are some bloody huge reveals in the upcoming season. In one photo, Tyrion appears to have reunited with his siblings Jamie and Cersei, who is now sporting a cropped hairstyle.

He has brought her dead daughter Myrcella back to King’s Landing, where their son Tommen is still on the throne.

Meanwhile, Natalie Dormer’s Margaery Tyrell still remains in prison after her arrest in Season 5 for lying about her brother’s sexuality.

The series of photos also show what is happening in the north. Sansa and Alfie Allen’s Theon Greyjoy appeared to have survived their jump from the wall at Winterfell, while Bran Stark, played by Isaac Hempstead-Wright, has returned and is standing tall.

Speculations say that Bran’s legs have not made a miraculous recovery, but that the Three-Eyed Raven has taken him on a cosmic journey through time.

Bran hasn’t appeared since the show’s fourth season. According to an interview with Isaac, Bran’s training with the Three-Eyed Raven largely expands his previous ability to see the past and the future and gives him more control to piece things together.

In another still picture, the Mother of Dragons, Daenerys Targaryen, is seen tied to the ropes while she stands in between the Dothrakis.
