As a racer, you can follow the pre-ordained path but the fastest routes will take you off the road into mountains, caves, wineries and also in and out of forests. This results in a both macro and micro experience.
In many races, you can chart your routes as well. An off-route course might take players across sparkling beaches, desert dunes, muddy beaches, smooth highway pavements, overgrown fields and much more. Each of the surfaces is different from each other and driving through them feels different as well.
Forza Horizon 3 has a 350 car roster, but the real boast is that every car in this game feels unique in nature. All the nitty gritty details of how cars should feel have been retained by the developers. They have dropped all of them into a laboratory and experimented with them in many different ways.
Although Forza Horizon 3 is unique, it is very much indebted to many other arcade racers like Burnout Paradise, Split Second, Blur, Need for Speed, MotorStorm and others. In spite of their excellence, a lot of these franchises have been abandoned, and their studios have either been shut down or subjected to more of a traditional fare.
Therefore, Forza Horizon 3 is unique in the sense that it doesn’t have any competition.
