It seems that Charlie Sheen has matured already after his various struggles in life over the past couple of years and he gave a glimpse of what a 51-year-old man should be on his Twitter account on January 17, 2017.
His long-running feud with singer Rihanna has been known in the showbiz circle and for some reason, the “Platoon” actor posted an indirect apology to the “FourFiveSeconds” singer.
He told Rihanna on his tweet to pardon him for his inane self-indulgence and subsequently asked Riri to have a drink with him someday. Charlie Sheen even added a heart emoji to end his post on Twitter, notes The Wrap.
Many of his critics instantly speculated that the New Year may have brought a new and more mature Charlie Sheen, which would be good for him and his rather lethargic acting career at the moment.
Not the best of friends
It can be recalled that Charlie Sheen and the “Work” singer have not been the best of friends for almost three years.
During an interview with Andy Cohen on the talk show “Watch What Happens Live!” early this month, the host asked the actor if he ever mended or ironed out his differences with Rihanna, Charlie Sheen responded by referencing to the singer as a bitch.
His hatred of Rihanna began in 2014 when he and his then-fiancee ran into the Barbados-born singer at the Giorgio Baldi restaurant in Santa Monica, California.
The “Two and a Half Men” actor attempted to introduce his significant other to the singer because she was a big fan. But instead of acknowledging the fan request, Rihanna denied it, much to the chagrin of Sheen and his fiancée.
He immediately took to Twitter and went ballistics against the “Umbrella” hitmaker.
Sheen tweeted then that he and his fiancée were not ‘kool’ enough to warrant a blessing from the Princess, which was a metaphor for a village idiot. He also told Rihanna to see her on the way down because they always do.
He continued with his rant that it was a pleasure not meeting her because they clearly have nothing in common when it comes to respecting those who has gone before her.
Not taking it sitting down
Rihanna did not take Charlie Sheen’s social media rant sitting down. She indirectly responded to the actor by saying that if the old queen does not get ha diapers out of a bunch, which was like saying that the actor is getting old and thus keeps on saying a lot of irrelevant things.
But it could just be Charlie Sheen momentarily flip-flopping on an issue to cleanse his reputation that is already tainted with a lot of drama including his bout with drug addiction, HIV, and his firing from “Two and a Half Men” not too long ago.
During his interview with Cohen early this month, both the host and Craig Robinson said ‘No, no, no!’ when Charlie Sheen called the “Rude Boy” singer a bitch.
Sheen has been known to take potshots on various celebrities. Just before he ranted against Rihanna, Charlie Sheen also dissed his former female co-stars in the movies, reports ET Online.
When he ranked them from best to worst, the actor did not have the nicest things to say to practically every one of them, making him quite notorious for being a blabbermouth on talk shows.
Charlie Sheen rose to movie fame after a series of successful films such as “Platoon” back in 1986 with Willem Dafoe and Tom Berenger, “Wall Street” with Michael Douglas in 1987, “Young Guns” with his brother Emilio Estevez, Lou Diamond Philips, and Dermot Mulroney in 1988, “Eight Men Out” also in 1988, “Major League” in 1989, the “Top Gun” parody “Hot Shots” in 1991, and “The Three Musketeers” in 1993.
