‘Castle’ Season 8 Episode 14 to See Rick Heading to Los Angeles and Getting Recruited by a Secret Society

The upcoming episode of “Castle” will see the eponymous lead Rick Castle, played by Nathan Fillion, being recruited by the Greatest Detective Society (GDS) to help him solve a murder.

As per Design & Trend, Rick will head to L.A. during the March 7 episode of the ABC TV series to find new information about his abduction.

Fans of the show will know that the detective previously went missing for approximately eight weeks. When he returned, he had no memory of what has happened to him during his abduction.

In episode 14, titled “The G.D.S.” Castle’s search for answers about his missing time takes a deadly turn when he is recruited by the legendary society.

“Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” actress Summer Glau will guest star as Kendall Frost, a heady private detective in Los Angeles who competes with Castle to try to solve the murder.

It was earlier reported that an episode of the crime drama TV series will include a Malcolm and River reunion as Fillion and Glau both starred in 2002’s space drama “Firefly.” Gerald McRaney also guest stars as Mason Wood, the head of GDS.

Judging by the synopsis, it appears that the society is an association of the best private detectives in the business and it will be an interesting thing to see how their methods differ from Castle when it comes to handling murder cases.

ABC has already released a promo video for the episode where Rick is seen informing his wife Kate Beckett, played by Stana Katic, about the case saying that a body has been found in Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

Melty reports that the trailer doesn’t reveal much, but it does give a tease of the Greatest Detective Society’s headquarters.

The logo behind Castle screams secret society and it’s decorated with lit candles and an old bookcase.

It’s safe to say that the upcoming episode will be more Castle-centric as Buddy TV shares the official stills from the episode

In the series of photos, Rick is seen meeting with Mason and his team in what seems to be the GDS’ secret hideout.

Another photo shows Rick and Mason together with the former holding a piece of paper that is believed to contain clues to the murder case. One image shows Frost trying to capture Mason’s attention away from Rick.

Meanwhile, Kate, Jon Huertas’ Esposito, and Seamus Dever’s Ryan are expected to stay behind in New York’s 12th precinct.

Hayley, played by Toks Olagundoye, will go to Rick in L.A. as she is seen interacting with Kendall in the teaser video.

During the last episode, Hayley saved Rick and Kate from being killed with the help of Molly Quinn’s Alexis. The former MPS cop was able to find the couple’s location before a man could shoot them.

Also, the last episode, entitled “And Justice For All,” saw a night-time zookeeper and an ESL student found dead in a pit of poisonous snakes.

This prompts Castle, who was suffering from writer’s block, to ask Beckett for help. Castle then goes undercover as an ESL student to get information on the case.

Beckett’s team also found out that their victim was not as purely as innocent as he seemed to be.

Castle Season 7

Meanwhile, the show, which has eight episodes left before the season’s end has not been renewed for a ninth season and it still looks like the current season is the last for ABC’s crime drama.

According to TV OverMind, series leads Fillion and Katic are possibly looking for other projects already past “Castle.”

The website reports that Fillion’s web series “Con Man” will be going to a whole new level. Variety reports that “Spectrum,” the fictional show at the center of the web series, will get its own TV show.

  1. First of all Alexis and Hayley did not save Beckett and Castle even though Beckett did say that Ryan and Espisoto “rescued” them. Actually Beckett and Castle had already disarmed and subdued the killer before R & E arrived on the scene. Hayley and Alexis merely located where B & C were being held and sent R & E there who merely opened the door as C & B were approaching it to get out.
The student was the only one dead in the snake pit. It was the zoo keeper who killed him.

  2. Sorry but Hayley and Alexis had nothing to do with saving Beckett and Castle. They had already subdued and disarmed the killer before Ryan and Espisito appeared to open the door when Castle and Beckett went out. All Alexis and Hayley did was to locate Castle and Beckett and send Ryan and Espisito to rescue them but all that remained for them to do was to open the door for them.
I am one of many who could care less if they ever finished Castle’s disappearance and LokSat. I for one cannot tolerate a season long mystery when you are kept in the dark virtually the entire season. I get bored in the waiting.

  3. An episode without Beckett or very little of Beckett is a wasted episode. Don’t the show runners hear the fans, don’t they know what the fans want, don’t they know that they have lost 2/3 of their fans by their failure to respond to the fans’ desires, don’t they know that Stana and Nathan are looking at other projects because they can read the writing on the wall while the show runners cannot.

  4. Buddy I agree with your last comments.Unfortunately these writers don’t care they already have other things going on themselves .To bad they had to ruin a good show with this bad writing and not caring about the fan base.
