Its release is approaching fast too, so fans who haven’t preordered the game yet might want to get that done as quickly as possible in order to be able to join the fun on day 1. As with most games in this franchise, that will likely be the best time to get in on the fun.
On the other hand, older games in the series will lose some of their players as people are moving on to the new one, but that’s the way the cycle of this game has been going in general, and it’s something fans have learned to accept.
At least some of them – others are generally disappointed by the way the franchise is being handled and claim that it’s developing too fast for its own good. Indeed, one release every year might be a bit too much for some fans.
But it’s definitely a development style that has been working out for Activision, as people are more than happy to keep paying a lot of money for those games every year, and even though “Call of Duty” is not a cheap game, players at least know what they are paying their money for. The production quality is always very high and the games tend to be very advanced for their time in most installments.
