He explained that fans will get to see only part of the environment of Pandora. He said that the scuba diving he did before in the deep ocean has more of a direct connection to “Avatar 2” and “Avatar 3” which will not take place completely under the water. Cameron added that those are just part of the environment of Pandora that audience will see.
Cameron also said that the fact that people are basically overfishing resulting to climate change, citing that a few degrees of temperature rise is going basically take out the coral reefs. He also expressed concern that all those beautiful images of the coral environments that people grew up with won’t exist in 50 years at the rate that people are going in terms of pumping greenhouse gases into the environment.
He added that they don’t have to explore the coral reefs at this point because he understands them very well and knows that they’re dying and they’re ultimately doomed if people don’t change their profligate ways.”
Last month, reports came out that Cameron will be using an increased frame rate for filming the upcoming “Avatar 2.” He will likewise utilize motion-capture technology in shooting most of the underwater scenes in the movie.
Reports also state that a good portion of the sequel will be shot underwater confirming early speculations that there will be some scenes in the deep in the upcoming film.
