Since 2007, Apple has been bringing some of the best mobile technology to the market. Each year, consumers get a good look at what the company is going to offer this time around. Back in the day, the company only had to worry about the iPod and the iPhone. Now, Apple released new versions of the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and iPad Mini just about every single year. Consumers are flooded with new devices each year and it is Apple that is always sitting on top.
With that being said, we know that Apple released two versions of the iPhone last year. For the first time, the company went a little larger with the size of the phone and it was a hit according to sales numbers. Now that the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus has settled nicely into consumers pockets, it is time to start thinking about the Apple iPhone 7. Of course, Apple is not saying much about it, but that is not keeping fans quiet as they hope for new features this time around.
The Apple iPhone 7 is expected to come with 2GB of RAM according to one source. That would propel the new smartphone model above a few on the market that are still sitting with 1GB or RAM. However, there are already plenty of smartphones with 2GB, some with 3GB, of RAM. In terms of RAM, it would appear that Apple is just a little behind the eight ball as usual.
The iPad Air 2 from Apple was the first device from the company to feature 2GB of RAM and now it looks like the iPhone 7 could offer the same speed. With the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, the consumers were hoping to see the jump to 2GB so the phone was in line with other powerful phones already for sale. That did not happen, so the next logical step would be to add it to the next version. With applications becoming more advanced, it is just important to have the RAM available to run them all.
For the most part, there are many applications that run in the background and when you have enough RAM, there is little disruption when it comes to running current apps. Apple is usually pretty good about upgrading the CPU on new models, so if the doubled up RAM rumors is true, it will pair up very nicely with a new process creating a very fast iPhone. The new A10 chip is expected to be released in 2016, according to rumors.
