Android 6.0 Marshmallow to Give the Best Overall User Experience; Official Rollout Set on September 29

The newest Android operating system was first unveiled in May during the Google I/O 2015 event with the moniker Android M. It was eventually revealed that M stands for Marshmallow.

With its third and final preview released last August, Google is set to officially unveil Android 6.0 Marshmallow by the end of this month.

TechRadar reports that that the tech giant has already sent out invitations for its September 29 event to be held in San Francisco, teasing invitees to ‘join us for tasty new treats and much more.’ Judging by the invitation, it is indeed a great news for Android users excitedly waiting for the Marshmallow update as Google will most likely release its latest OS.

According to Christian Post, Android 6.0 Marshmallow is designed to give out the best overall user experience. It comes with new features and improvements which will make Android devices perform better than before.

Based on the beta version of the upcoming Marshmallow upgrade that ran on Nexus devices, the new operating system comes with many changes such as overhauled application permissions, improved app drawer, custom Chrome tabs, fingerprint scanner, and USB type-C support, which will allow a device to charge faster, among others.

In addition, a battery saver called Doze is part of the Marshmallow update and is expected to manage the battery usage of the Android device wisely. Doze will terminate apps running in the background and idle ones whenever unintentionally opened.

Another addition is the ‘Now on Tap’ feature. It’s the Android assistant that will allow users to search without exiting a running application. Unlike before, users will only have to tap the home button and still retain their current application.

The apps permission has also been improved for the convenience of users. The custom Chrome tab allows users to be creative as it provides an array of fonts, themes, and colors. The fingerprint scanner can also lock applications.

Marshmallow also comes with a 25MB cloud storage in Google drive to save applications and application settings, Venture Capital Post reports.

Lastly, the latest Android OS version will include Android Pay that will allow users to make payments using their Android devices.

Google has really done a solid job in giving out the best user experience to Android device owners and they have certainly toughened up the competition with leading tech giant, Apple, who also made huge news with their latest lines of iPhones, iPads and other devices plus their latest OS, the iOS 9.

With all the hype that many Android users are getting, the big question still remains: When is the Marshmallow upgrade going to reach their phones?

Traditionally, the drill has always been to have the newest Android operating system running on Nexus devices and Android 6.0 Marshmallow is no different as it is expected to be rolled out to Google’s latest flagship phones Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P first. They are expected to be unveiled during the September 29 event as well.

Nexus device users are in luck as they can expect their devices to run on the latest Android software before the year ends.

The South Korean handset manufacturer is reportedly eyeing to update their recent offerings such as the Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S5 as well as the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note 5, which was just released last month, to the latest Android OS.

Rumors are also rife that if Samsung fails to get the update by November, then they will be rolling out the latest OS by early 2016, although the tech firm has not given an official confirmation regarding their plans in rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
