Meanwhile, on the Capcom side, it is difficult to determine if the lineup can change drastically, but after the major success of Resident Evil 7, it won’t be that surprising to see Chris Redfield return or even Jack Baker, an RE7 character. Ryce also mentioned last December that the game would include a Capcom villain who hasn’t been witnessed before.
It has been more than two months since Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite was revealed, much to the delight of the community involved in fighting games. Fans have been engaged in a lively debate regarding which character should be taken and which shouldn’t.
The gameplay trailer suggests that the series will return to its staple genre of explosive combat, but it will include some dramatic changes as well. During the last two games of Marvel vs. Capcom, players chose teams of three characters that can be swapped between.
As demonstrated in the teaser trailer by Mega Man X and Ryu versus Iron Man and Captain Marvel, Infinite will feature the two-versus-two combat of the earlier games. The Capcom Director of Production, Mike Evans said that the change was implemented to make the franchise more easily accessible to casual gamers.
There will be an interesting new mechanic with the two-on-two combat system. Besides changing characters in any free moment or at the end of an attack chain, you can sub in your other team-mate mid combo. According to Evans, the goal is to promote a more free-form system of gameplay.
