The 2015 Honda Accord is one of the most easygoing vehicles in the market at the moment. The vehicle is the perfect family sedan, packed with the perfect balance between comfort, safety, practicality and performance. The American market finds a soft corner for the Honda Accord as only three vehicles have ever achieved the title of the best-selling car in America, namely the Toyota Camry, the Ford Taurus, and the Honda Accord.
The present generation Taurus however is an oddity and does not compete with the Camry and Accord in class. Both these vehicles however fight in the same segment, enhancing competition by quite a margin. In fact, both these vehicles are so evenly matched that a potential customer has a lot of difficulty in settling down for one.
Honda had previously updated the Accord back in 2013. Hence, for 2015, no major changes were incorporated. Like most other vehicles in the class, the Honda does not change the exterior or interior dynamics of the vehicle drastically during restyling, which makes the vehicles easily recognizable.
The Accord has grown over the years, incorporating numerous major changes along the way. The styling however sticks to the roots. This strategy played out well for Hyundai, and the Sonata remains a favorite till date.
Powering the 2015 Honda Accord is a range of engine options including a four-cylinder 2.4-liter petrol engine block, displacing 185 BHP and a 189 BHP displacing Sports version. Honda is also offering a V6 engine block displacing 278 BHP for the sports enthusiasts. Both engine blocks have their distinct advantages and disadvantages. Hence, feel free to opt for either one!
Both engines are hooked on to a CVT transmission system, and offering smooth performance and the handling is unlike most sedans in the class. Ride comfort is perfectly suited for urban commuting as well as long highway cruises. The interior is refined and deserves praise. However, Honda is known for refinement and quality. Hence, nothing surprising in this regard!
Driving the 2015 Honda Accord feels like digging into a gourmet meal, and we say that in a positive light! If you are looking for a more economical alternative, you can always opt for the Accord Hybrid. While the standard variants of the Accord are known to return around 21/34/26 MPG city/freeway/combined, the Hybrid returns 50/45/47 city/freeway/combined respectively. Quite a decent punch at this price we must say. The electronic additions in the Accord make it one of the most suitable and appealing mid-range family sedan, and this plays to the vehicle’s advantage.
