Ariana Grande got a rude awakening for a mischievous act she committed on the Fourth of July. She and her new boyfriend Ricky Alvarez, one of her backup dancers, went to the Wolfee Donuts on July 4 at Lake Elsinore in California.
While they were queuing at the counter waiting for their orders to be taken, the “Love Me Harder” singer mischievously licked a couple of the donuts displayed on top of the counter shelves. While her beau certainly found the act funny, the store’s security cameras caught it on film. Worst, she was also overheard on video saying that she hates America and that she also hates Americans.
So when the video was released on the internet, Ariana was caught in the middle of a shameful incident that many have referred to as Donutgate 2015, in reference to the Watergate scandal that caused the resignation of an American president from his position back in the early 70s.
There was no denying that she did and said what she has done or spoke about because the video really showed her licking the donuts and also heard her uttering discriminatory remarks against America and its people.
A personal account of the incident came from 22-year-old Mayra Solis, the cashier on duty at the shop, who claimed that the singer did not buy any of the donuts she licked and she was also rude.
Failed health check
As a result of the Ariana donut-licking incident, Wolfee Donuts eventually failed its health check. Asked if Wolfee Donuts would be pressing charges against the songstress, store owner Joe Marin declined to do so, saying that the incident was documented to assist the Department of Environmental Health, reports Hollywood Life.
Eventually, Marin said that he might be pressing charges against Ariana eventually because the donuts she licked at the store were accidentally sold to other customers. The Wolfee Donuts owner has already talked to his lawyer who told him that he has a good case of cross contamination against the “Bang Bang” singer.
However, after getting its health code rating downgraded as a result of the Donutgate 2015 incident, Wolfee Donuts got a reprieve from the Department of Environmental Health, reports the Daily Mail.
The donut store eventually got its A grade restored after local officials downgraded it to a B rating following Ariana’s July 4 antics.
The restoration of the A grade for Wolfee Donuts on July 15 came at the heels of news on July 13 that the 22-year-old musician will not be charged for licking the baked goods.
Accordingly, the store was also partly to blame for the incident because it incorrectly placed the donuts on the counter which is why the customer had licking access to it.
Making amends
In order to make personal amends to her Donutgate 2015 scandal, Ariana Grande attempted to smooth over the issue by making a pro-USA announcement during her concert in Tampa, Florida on July 16 as part of her Honeymoon Tour.
She once again apologized for her gross donut-licking antics and anti-American comments. Many believe that the issue is not going to blow away that easily considering the stature of her current popularity.
The “Break Free” singer is obviously trying to break free from her current social ordeal and it seems that she is making her Honeymoon Tour as her personal apology letter to her fans and the American people.
During her Tampa concert, Ariana said that she is so grateful that she is performing in the USA, referring to it as the greatest country in the world. She then said that she loves Americans so much.
It was a huge turnaround from her comments on July 4 over at Wolfee Donuts where she was clearly overheard saying in the video what was the raucous about. From out of the blue, she said that she hates Americans and she hates America.
The spoiled little reptile learned from her revolting behavior. Before the despicable faux pas she was foul and obnoxious. Now she’s just the opposite; obnoxious and foul.
Her initial reflex was the “apology” in which she claimed shes just worried because Americans are so fat and obesity is an epidemic. After that she was seen to be aggravated that people werent letting it go.
When it became clear this incident might actually dent her wallet, THEN she suddenly was “rudely awakened” and released the damage control video.
Like all elitist 1%ers she has no remorse. Her remorse is for getting caught and having it potentially cost her in lost sales, damaged image and a lawsuit.
The issue isnt her silly comments about “hating America”. The issue is her literally spitting on the rabble by abusing a store clerk (who will probably be fired since the health department blamed the downgrade on them), contaminating food that people ate, and laughing about it.
Thats sociopathic. You dont just ” rudely awaken” if you’re capable of behaving this way. People like this just learn to hide it better.
