This might go against their common stereotype of overpricing their products, and it would certainly earn them some positive points in their fan communities. Of course, the lowered production costs for the new MacBook Air could be offset by some special new features, so in the end the device could still have its regular price point.
There have indeed been rumors of additional features coming, but most of them have been a little vague so far. That’s typical with Apple’s products, as the company is always surrounded by a shroud of mystery, and even its own employees are sometimes confused about what’s going on behind their doors.
If they are planning some more interesting feature, then we likely won’t hear about it until it’s been unveiled officially, as Apple are definitely good at keeping secrets, perhaps the best in the industry when it comes to protecting their projects until the last moment. So we’ll have to wait for the next few months and see what happens.
