According to official statements, the issues are actually the same that the company has already been dealing with in the past with the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, which used the same model nine-speed transmission. Back then, the vehicle came out on the market with a pretty significant delay, and even after it was out the problem was never completely resolved.
With that in mind, it’s a bit worrying what would happen with the current Renegade. If they were never able to fully fix the issue before, can we expect them to handle it correctly now?
We can only wait and see what will happen by the end of this month, but the company faces a lot of potential negativity in the press if they don’t get on top of this problem immediately. Judging by the way they’re talking about it in public though, they’re definitely putting a lot of effort into resolving it as quickly as possible and restoring the Renegade line to a proper state.
