It can be recalled that for the first time ever, “Skyfall” gave Moneypenny a very satisfying backstory. Apparently, she was another field agent who worked closely with James Bond in the shooting, fighting, running, and battling that always fills Agent 007’s perilous missions, details Cinema Blend.
It turns out that during one of those assignments, she accidentally shot Bond and got suspended in the process and assigned to desk duty.
Towards the end of “Skyfall,” after doing her duty much better in another shootout, she decides to take over the role of the newly appointed M, played by Ralph Fiennes, after the death of the former M, played by Judi Dench.
According to Director Sam Mendes, “Spectre” is special because of two different reasons. The first reason is the story which he finds very good and captivating.
The second reason is the fact that the film will be entirely driven by Bond. Mendes said that 007 will be on a mission from the get-go of the movie. So the plot will basically revolve on whether or not James Bond will pursue the life he has chosen, or whether he wants to continue serving Her Majesty’s Secret Service.
Mendes said that for viewers and audiences to find out the choice that James Bond will make, they really have to watch the movie for themselves and discover the answer.
